Product Review Time!!!!
As you may know, I posted my tutorial/review for Aztec Secret’s Calcium Bentonite Clay Mask as a way to detoxify your hair a little while back.
Well, Naturalicious sent me their Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment (Kinky Coily formula) to try for comparison. I decided to give it a try for one full month to see how my hair would benefit from it. Before I give you guys my opinion though, let me break down the history behind this cleansing treatment.
Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment is very similar to Calcium Bentonite Clay in that it removes impurities and product build-up from your hair–essentially detoxing your hair from the inside out. The main difference between both clays is that Naturalicious‘ Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment uses Moroccan Lava Clay (Rhassoul) which contains silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, and potassium. It also has cocoa butter and olive oil which are two highly moisturizing ingredients. The cocoa butter surprised me since my hair is usually weighed down its moisturizing capabilities. This product is also sulfate free, paraben free, gluten-free, mineral oil free, and cruelty free. I’m a HUGE advocate of natural, organic and vegan hair products so this was a +++ in my book!!
What I Loved (PROS):
1) I’ve used it twice for 1 month so far and I have to say I’M IN LOVE!!! First off, there is NO MIXING since Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment comes PRE-MADE! Now, if you’ve watched by Calcium Bentonite Clay Mask for the hair tutorial you’d see that the preparation and application process of Calcium Bentonite Clay to my hair was very messy. I loved my results but the mess was very frustrating to say the least.
2) Almost instantly my hair was supple, more manageable and my coils were VERY defined. Check this out–my wash and go lasted for SEVEN DAYS EACH WASH WITH NO REFRESHING-NOT EVEN WATER APPLIED TO REFRESH!!! I used it both times as a conditioning cleanser.
3) My hair was UNDOUBTEDLY stronger! Dryness was reduced, elasticity was improved and my hair had no shortage of body and bounce after using this cleansing treatment.
Here are a few pics of how my hair looked after using Naturalicious‘ Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment.
My only con is that this product will cost you approximately $20.00. Since it cleanses, conditions, detangles, deep conditions it does balance out with the price. I just wish the bottle came in a bigger size!..lol.
The 1st time I used this product my hair had been in a bun for 1 week without any type of detangling being done to it. Needless to say my hair was way too tangled for me to apply the product as a detangler. I ended up having to co-wash beforehand in order to initially detangle and then apply the Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment afterwards for further cleansing. I learned my lesson after that wash and did not allow my hair to become super tangled for the 2nd wash. I was able to reap the full benefits of this product as a conditioning cleanser and detangler the second time around. Keep in mind that this product doesn’t have slip but it does clump the hair making it easier to comb through. This cleanser can also be used as a deep conditioner by placing the product on the hair again, covering with a plastic shower cap and sitting under a hooded dryer or steamer of your choice for 15-30 minutes. Since I deep condition without heat I didn’t use it as a DC but I will make an exception for this product since I was so pleased with my results.
Overall, I am pleased with this product and I will be adding Naturalicious‘ Moroccan Rhassoul 5-in-1 Clay Treatment into my rotation of staple products.
It’s worth a try! You can order from their website http://www.naturalicious.net/ or select Whole Foods.
Let me know how it works for you if you decide to give it a try 😉
