CURLS Girls Rule The World™ Empowerment Campaign

Untitled design(3)

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by CURLS (@frizzfreecurls) to take part in their Curls Girls Rule The World™ campaign.

I am honored to be part of another social initiative that is centered around empowering women to take control of their destinies through personal power and determination. I decided to share my story because I really wanted to encourage other women to look beyond their circumstances which may be hindering them from achieving their goals and dreams. We should not let our current or past situations have a hold on our potential and future. We should take those obstacles and use them as motivation to propel forward.

In 2006, I was in a major car accident that left me with multiple serious injuries. I was almost paralyzed from the neck down. After years of rehabilitation and multiple surgeries I finally started to make some headway in my recovery process. However, that victory was short lived. In 2010, I was diagnosed with Lupus. I thought I had hit rock bottom. Through my faith in God and the support of my family I was able to overcome these obstacles make a concrete decision that changed my life forever.

I decided that I couldn’t let my injuries or my condition dictate my life or deter me from wanting to accomplish any of my dreams and goals. I didn’t want to be defined by my circumstances. I graduated college, got married and started a family despite the odds. My faith in God did not allow me and won’t allow me to be anything less than my greatest.

Special thanks for CURLS for including me in their CURLS Girls Rule The World™ empowerment campaign! My hope is that my story will inspire others to pursue their dreams and not be defined by their circumstances.

Official Ambassador for Blend in for WHAT?!™ Campaign

I was tapped by Blend in for WHAT?!™ founder and artist Nicole Updegraff (@cottoncandyplayground) to become an Official Ambassador for the Blend in for WHAT?!™ campaign.

I joined the ranks with a pretty amazing group of women which included models, actresses, celebrity hair stylists, life coaches, authors, entrpreneurs, wardrobe stylists, natural hair enthusiasts and fellow bloggers.

Fellow Blend in for WHAT?!™ Amassadors included Nikia Phoenix, P. Roy, Felicia Leatherwood, Victoria Sanders, Zara Green, Sabrina Boissiere, Ashley Blaine Featherson, Denise Watkins, Angela McCrae, Arkeedah McCormick, Merissa V. Grayson, Deya “Direct” Smith, and Pamela Jenkins.
Let’s face it, women and young girls are facing challenges with their beauty, self worth and body image through social media, television and movies everyday. Blend in for WHAT?!™ is a social intiative centered around acknowledging self-worth, building confidence and teaching women and girls to be their own standard of beauty.

We want to empower young girls and women to take a stand and say, “I am beautiful. I am confident. I am enough for me. These are my standards and nobody has the power to change them but me”.

We took a pledge on  January 1st to upload a selfie with the hashtags #BlendInForWhat & #BlendInForWhat100K to raise awareness of the campaign but to also encourage other women and girls to be their own standard of beauty.

We were born to stand out. We are unique just the way God created us. We want women and girls to own who they are and be proud of it.

I am so honored to have been selected to be part of this campaign to empower women and girls all over the world!

Cebelamour ❤️
