Hubs prefers red wine while I lean towards white wines. Rosé is the perfect wine for us because it has characteristics of both red and white wine. Marriage is all about compromise right? Thanks Wines of Provence!..lol. wines of provence, rosé all day, fall into rosé, date night ideas, indoor date night ideas, blacklovedoc, date night after kids, vegan pizza, gluten free vegan pizza, vegan recipes, vegan gluten free meal ideas, easy vegan recipes, holistic nutrition, food blogger, nutritionist, bob's red mill gluten free pizza crust

If you’re looking for a high quality rosé, chances are your wine will be from France, specifically Provence. #RoséAllDay is a lifestyle in Provence. About 89% of the region is devoted to making rosé. In fact, France alone accounts for a third of the world’s rosé! Apparently we’re starting to #FallIntoRosé stateside since Americans drink 13% of the world’s rosé. The huge increase, by almost 47%, of Provence rosé exports in volume to the U.S. between 2015 and 2016 is mostly driven by millenials.

The Provence region also has a multitude of red and white wines if you’re not a huge fan of rosé. The Wines of Provence directory is full of information about the grapes, the region, what to drink, when to drink it – typically during the summer months.

My husband and I are big on spice and flavor due to our West Indian roots. Rosé pairs extremely well with spicy and smoky dishes. We decided to pair our glasses with our homemade Sicilian pizza and it was a HIT! This pizza is vegan, gluten-free, smoky, spicy and loaded with flavor! Recipe

  • one 16 oz package Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix (3-1/4 cups)
  • 1-1/2 cups Water (warm)
  • 2-1/4 tsp Yeast Packet (included with gluten free crust package)
  • 2 flax eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 bag vegan mozzarella shreds ( I use Daiya & SO Delicious)
  • vegan sausage (Field Roast Italian or Smoked Apple & Sage work best)
  • vegan ricotta (Kite Hill)
  • bell peppers
  • spinach
  • basil
  • oregano
  • garlic
  • cashew “parmesan” cheese (recipe here)
  • red chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and oil two 12-inch pizza pans or one 16-inch pizza pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine water and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes while the yeast dissolves. Stir in eggs and oil. Add GF Pizza Crust Mix and stir until ingredients are completely combined.
  3. Leaving dough in the bowl, split in half for two pizzas or keep whole for one large pizza. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise 20 minutes.
  4. Place dough in the center of the prepared pizza pan(s). Cover each piece of dough with a large piece of plastic wrap. Using a rolling-pin or your hands, roll or press the dough flat to fit the pan. Use your fingers on top of the plastic to create a crust edge, if desired.
  5. Remove plastic wrap and bake without toppings for 7 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and cover with your favorite sauce and toppings. Bake for an additional 15 – 18 minutes, until crust is golden brown. Makes two 12-inch pizzas or one 16-inch pizza.

The food pairings with rosé are endless. The best part? You can sit back & enjoy a glass all year round! You can learn more about Wines of Provence here. How will you #RoséAllYear ?

3 Tips for a Less Stressed Car Buying Experience

cars.com, best time of year to buy new car, car buying tips, car buying, mommy blogger
**Sponsored Post: All opinions expressed are honest and my own.**

Switching gears to mommy mode today on the blog. How many of you are thinking about purchasing a new car? Spoiler: Keep reading to find out what time of year is best to buy car! Car searching can be extremely stressful and overwhelming, parent or not! We’ve purchased a few vehicles over the years as our family has expanded from 2 to 4. I can confidently say we have finally mastered the art of the car buying process while saving a ton of stress & money as well! Here are my top 3 tips for a less stressed car buying experience.

Research, Research, Research!

This one goes without saying. Research as if your life (credit & bank account) depend on it! First, consider your costs. How much can you afford to pay monthly for gas, insurance and routine maintenance? Don’t forget to factor in emergencies such as blown tires, engine trouble, battery hiccups, etc. Listen, life happens and insurance companies won’t cover everything. Next, if you’re not paying for your car in full, consider getting a car loan from a credit union. The rates are usually significantly lower than commercial banks. You also have a higher chance of being approved for a car loan by a credit union with a lower credit score. Credit unions are more apt to listen to it’s member’s needs and unique circumstances than commercial banks.

Size Matters

Do you need something spacious or compact? Will you have more than one passenger in your car at times? Do you park in a driveway or street? Will you be making lengthy road trips? 4-6- or 8 cylinder? Do you work at a location that has private parking or do you have fight to park on a busy city street? There a million other scenarios to consider but we’d be here all day. IMG_2308Just keep in mind, the bigger the car, the bigger the bill (monthly note, gas, etc). Figure out what size vehicle will work best for you on a daily basis.

Resources

With a million platforms and ways to gain insight on your big purchase, it’s easy to become inundated and overwhelmed with information. What you don’t want is to become blinded by all the bells and whistles on a new “shiny toy” and end up with buyer’s remorse. One resource we highly recommend to avoid all of that is Cars.com. IMG_2312 IMG_2309cars.com, best time of year to buy new car, car buying tips, car buying, mommy blogger We were able to check inventory on both new and used cars, gas mileage, recalls and every other spec you can imagine from the comfort of our couch. You can cut through the fluff an get straight to business on their site. This saved us a TON of time going to & from dealerships! Cars.com also has deets on service centers nearby, reviews on cars & dealerships and much more. It’s literally a one stop shop for all your car buying, selling & servicing needs! Did you know last week was Car Seat Safety Week? Cars.com techs underwent 40 hours of training and participated in car seat check events sponsored by the police and Department of Transportation in Chicago. Read more about it here!

Bonus Tip

We have found that the best time to purchase a car is around Columbus Day. Most dealerships are trying to free their lots & floors to make room for the following year’s models. I’ve purchased vehicles on or around Columbus Day twice and have managed to get sticker value or less on each purchase.

I Don’t Love My Kids Equally: The Reality of Motherhood After Baby Number 2

When I found out I was pregnant with baby number 2, I was ecstatic! They would be close in age, be each other’s confidant and hopefully best friends for life. Naturally, we worried whether our older son would be receptive to his new baby brother. That feeling didn’t last long as it became clear to us that he would be fine due to his protective and nurturing personality. motherhood, bossmom, bossmomnation, munamommy, parenting magazine, healthyhairtotoe, targetbaby, cat and jack, dress the bump, bumpstyle, pregnancy fashion, how to prepare child for baby number 2, natural hair, pregnancy fashion, toddler fashion, old navy style, baby number 2, pregnancy, maternity style, mommy bloggerAs my due date approached, my worries started to shift onto myself. Was I capable of showing love for my sons equally? Would my oldest son feel like he was being replaced? What if the baby felt neglected due to me overcompensating with his big brother? Mom guilt was REAL! I now realize that while I love both of my boys, I don’t love them in the same way and that’s perfectly fine!

Naturally, we worried whether our older son would be receptive to his new baby brother.

If you have siblings, do your parents tell you they love you all the same? Hate to break it to you but it’s not possible. The truth is you cannot love your children exactly the same. I’m 1 of 5 children so I’m speaking from experience here! I also asked my dad so that helps a ton too..lol!motherhood, bossmom, bossmomnation, munamommy, parenting magazine, healthyhairtotoe, targetbaby, cat and jack, dress the bump, bumpstyle, pregnancy fashion, how to prepare child for baby number 2, natural hair, pregnancy fashion, toddler fashion, old navy style, baby number 2, pregnancy, maternity style, mommy bloggerWhether you have 2, 3 or 10, all of your children will have different personalities. They’ll have different likes, dislikes, wants, needs, etc; across the board! You’ll connect with each child differently but the love will still be there. Imagine my shock when I realized baby number 2 loves sweets & veggies unlike his big brother…I almost fell out of my chair!..lol.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Favoritism is a real thing. Long-term favoritism can have damaging effects into your LO’s adult years. We as parents need to be mindful of how much attention and affection we’re giving our kids daily.

One of the most important things you can do for your children is love them the way they need you to rather than how you think you should love them.

What part of us & how much of us each child will require at any given moment are key. For example, my older son likes to cuddle and watch movies together. My younger son would rather me in the room but space to do his own thing (yes, even at 10 months..lol). I’m sure certain aspects of their personalities & interests may change as they get older. We’ll be sure to encourage those interests & passions to help them thrive. Bottom line, they’ll always know they are loved for who they are as individuals.

Are you expecting baby number 2 or thinking about adding to your tribe? You may want to keep this in mind. Don’t beat yourself up and do the best you can to see your children as individuals.
